NetGalley: a tale of obsession

Dear Friends,

How do you NOT download 10,000 galleys from NetGalley?

I’ve been avoiding signing up for a number of reasons… apparently good ones. After two weeks, my eReader runneth over.

Add this to the problem that is Visiting A Library Every Day Because I Work There and Checking Out Books Every Damn Day…

I am in need of the world’s nerdiest intervention.

I just signed up for Net Galley and am restricting myself to one download at a time.

    It’s hard.

  2. I just discovered NetGalley a few days ago but haven’t signed up… but I”m thinking about it… I totally relate to your checking out book problem. Although I don’t work at a library, I’m there all the time, and I’ve also gotten into this bad habit where I’ll learn about a new book, and then I go “Oh! I wonder if our library has it…” and I then proceed to look it up on the online catalog and many times recently low and behold they do and then I REQUEST IT! And it’s really bad because today I just picked up 11 books on hold for me…which felt like Christmas but classes start tomorrow and I probably won’t get to read most of them, and there’s still 8 more that are being “requested” for me and will soon be ready… I think we both need help haha
